The wings of a butterfly are actually made up of tiny scales. Cut black card into the shape of a butterfly and then cut out areas for the colourful wings. Add colourful torn tissue paper to the back of the butterfly and secure with tape or glue. Now add this to a window and watch the wonderful array of colours come flooding through the wings!

Did you know a bee only produces around a teaspoon of honey (about 5 grams) in her lifetime. Using glue and lolly craft sticks, secure the sticks, simply add some black pipe cleaner for the antennas and some goggly eyes. This is a lovely one to stick into the soil indicating where your bee friendly flowers are growing.

Did you know the collective noun for a group of penguins in water is called a raft but on land they're called a waddle! This is a toilet roll covered with black paper. Add some thin strips of yellow paper to the top. Add goggly eyes and a beak and voila!

Rainbow wreath

Using a simple branch wreath as the base, tie ribbons arround the wreath to create a rainbow pattern. Hang on your front door and enjoy. These make great handmade teacher thank you gifts too!

Popit chocolate

Add a very thin layer of melted chocolate into each space of the popit. Add the smarties into each crevas and finally fill with lots of melted chocolate. Place in the fridge until it is set. Pop it out and enjoy this yummy snack!

Layer the rainbow craft lolly sticks around each side of the base. Use a glue gun to ensure they are stuck firmly. Add some string to each corner and fill with bird seed.

Choose 7 sticks and paint each one a colour of the rainbow. Attach to a larger stick and hang somewhere in the garden.


Rainbow hand print

Nothing beats this easy peasy rainbow craft. Paint the child's hand the colours of the rainbow and get them to print their hand on the page. This is a wonderful way to make thank you teacher cards!

Tying shoes

Tying shoelace practice. Sometimes presenting a child with a problem in a different way helps them to persevere to solve the problem. Make learning to tie shoelaces fun.Lace an old shoelace through the egg box and work together to practice this tricky skill.

Well this craft could't be any easier for children to try. Cover the toilet roll in a chosen colour, decorate the wings and add a face!

Underwater handprints

Have fun experimenting with the different sea creatures you can create using your hand pruint and paint. This underwater masterpiece contains a turtle, crab, clown fish and jellyfish. What other sea creatures could you try?

Duplo painting

Easy, simple and quick. Allow children to enjoy painting by creating duplo or lego prints. They can try creating patterns, notice the different imprint sizes and experiment with the lengths of the various bricks.

Ok so this is a little trickier than it looks. Cut the banana so it stands upright. Drip the melted chocolate over the head and feet and allow to set a little, then add the orange smarties and edible eye. Place in the fridge to then fully set. A yummy snack!

Add a drop of red food colouring to some spreadable cheese. Mix until it forms a pink paste. Spread this on to the bread or toast. Add a slice of banana and some strawberries to create the perfect piggy snack.

Parrots are believed to be one of the most intelligent bird species. Some cut up apple, blueberries, strawberries and a little mango makes this snack packed full of fruit.

This is a great one for birthday parties or special occasions. Dip some breadsticks in melted chocolate and then roll in sprinkles and allow to set. Also, you can create a fruit kebab with a slice of apple cut into a star shape to create these delicious magic wands.
